Rotary Introduction

Rotary is a global network of over 1.4 million business and professional leaders who come together to make a difference in their communities and around the world. Rotary is a non-political and non-religious organization that promotes service above self and encourages high ethical standards in all professions.

Rotary clubs are made up of local community leaders who meet regularly to plan and carry out service projects, fundraisers, and events that benefit their communities and those in need. Rotary clubs also provide their members with opportunities for personal and professional development through leadership training, educational programs, and networking events.

Rotary International, the umbrella organization for Rotary clubs, was founded in 1905 and has since grown to include over 200 countries. Rotary is best known for its work to eradicate polio, which it has been actively working on since 1979. Other areas of focus for Rotary include clean water, education, and economic and community development.
